Impacts and mitigation of proposed limestone mine near Khuiyala, Jaisalmer on Great Indian Bustard, Its associated wildlife and habitat : Final report

Abstract

The study aims to assess baseline information on wildlife values, with emphasis on GIB distribution and habitat suitability, and to evaluate the potential impacts of mining, transportation, road traffic, power lines, and associated disturbances. This scientific assessment is expected to provide evidence-based recommendations on the impact of the project, scope of mitigation, habitat restoration, and conservation planning for ensuring the coexistence of industrial development and species persistence in one of India’s most fragile desert ecosystems.
